Mission Statement

Our mission, as charitable arm of the DebreSelam MedhaneAlem Eritrean Orthodox Church, is to serve the disadvantaged and vulnerable by providing help to access food, shelter, skill-building education, healthcare, and other services. We work to alleviate suffering and restore hope by putting God’s love into action through our programs and partnerships with other organizations and local communities. We strive to inspire, empower and create a connected community of love and support where everyone is valued and cared for, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Organizational Objective

Assist the disadvantaged and immigrants/refugees in social service and life skills: housing, immigration, job placement, English as second language, and information for newcomers.
Advocate for and provide after school programs for youth through tutorial, remedial classes and activities.
Partner with county, state, and national community organizations to advance the wellbeing of our mutual community and interest. 
Identify current and future challenges facing our community and organize seminars, workshops, and educational materials to mitigate these ills.
